Project going on in the Honolulu area. The Honolulu rail transit have paid 13.1 million to relocate many residents in the area. Andrew Robbins the executive director of Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation HART, send a letter to the Federal Transit Administration FTA and the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Inspectors General. In Robbins letter, he let them know that they have not paid off the entire residents that had to move. Regrettably, there have been many discrepancies with reimbursements and relocation fees that are still unpaid to the property owners. Honolulu states rail officials state they may go through forego $3.8 million in federal funding in the near future.
HART plans to expand the internal review in order to identify any additional discrepancies and to assist in determining appropriate corrective actions to ensure compliance going forward, Robbins wrote. For full article click here.
