“Hi, my name is Joe Smith with XYZ Realty. I would like to speak to Mr. Owner of the property,” I would say to the whoever answers the phone. The name of your real estate company should get some attention, but it was still up to you to get in the door.
If you encounter resistance, I would say, “Look, I know you that you have not heard of me and I know you and your family are busy people. I also want you to know that I have something really important and worthwhile to give to you and your family. I would like the opportunity to sit down and speak to you and your spouse.”
At this time the person on the phone will reply, “I’m sorry but we are busy right now. Please leave your name, number and the reason for your call on the voicemail. And he will call you back.”
In this instance, I would say, “I know it’s tough for you to decide to meet with me. I also understand that you are all busy people, but believe me, what I have to say will be well worth your time and effort. And I know you and the property owner will significantly appreciate that you give me a chance to speak to you about your real estate goals.
